How we work

The method, and the parts of it nobody sees.

Carpet cleaning is not complicated, but it is easy to do badly in ways that do not show up for a month. Here is the whole process, including the steps that are quietly dropped when a company is trying to fit six jobs into a day.

Hot-water extraction

Six steps, in this order.

The order is not arbitrary. Each step is set up by the one before it, and doing them out of sequence — wetting before vacuuming, extracting before dwell — actively makes the result worse.

  1. 01

    Walk the job

We look at the fiber, the backing and the traffic pattern with you before anything is unloaded, and tell you what will and will not come out.

  2. 02

    Dry soil first

Roughly three quarters of what is in a carpet is dry. Vacuuming it out first means the rest is not turned into mud.

  3. 03

    Pre-spray and dwell

The chemistry does the work, not the wand. Skipping dwell time is the single most common reason a clean does not last.

  4. 04

    Agitate

A groomer drives the pre-spray down to the base of the pile where the soil actually is.

  5. 05

    Extract

Hot water in under pressure, soil and solution back out. Slow passes — this is the step people rush.

  6. 06

    Rinse and groom

An acid rinse brings the fiber back to neutral pH so it does not re-soil in two weeks. Then the pile is set in one direction.

The difference

Three steps that get skipped.

None of these are visible while the technician is in your house. All three are why one clean lasts a year and another is grubby again by Thanksgiving.

Commonly skipped

Dwell time

Pre-spray needs five to fifteen minutes to break the bond between soil and fiber. Spraying and immediately extracting means the chemistry never worked, and you paid for it anyway. It is invisible on the day and obvious three weeks later.

Commonly skipped

Agitation

Pre-spray sits on top of the pile until something drives it down to the base, which is where the soil actually is. A groomer takes two minutes per room. Without it you are cleaning the top third of the carpet.

Commonly skipped

The rinse

Detergent left in the fiber is tacky, and tacky attracts dirt. An acid rinse brings the carpet back to a neutral pH so it does not re-soil almost immediately. This is the single biggest reason a cheap clean does not last.

The visit

What the day looks like from your side.

  1. Before

    A real arrival window

A two-hour window, not "sometime Tuesday", and a message when we set off.

  2. On arrival

    We walk it with you

Every room, every problem area. You hear what will come out, what probably will not, and the firm price — before anything is unloaded.

  3. Setup

    Your house gets protected

Corner guards on doorways, blocks and tabs under furniture, hoses run so no door has to be propped into the weather longer than necessary.

  4. The work

    Methodically, in order

Vacuum, pre-treat, dwell, agitate, extract, rinse. Slow passes. The order is what makes it last.

  5. Before we go

    You inspect it wet

We walk it again together while we are still here and still set up, because that is when anything missed is easy to fix.

  6. After

    Drying and aftercare

Air movers where they help, plain-English aftercare, and a note of anything we spotted that you will want to know about.
